Summer Program 2010

In 2010 60 international and 10 Nepali volunteers participated in the summer program. The 60 volunteers came from Glasgow University (SVA), Edinburgh University (EGP), Oxford University (ODA), Bristol University (BVDA) and Birmingham University (InterVols).

Outcome:

  • Construction of school buildings in 3 VDC`s of Baglung (Resha, Bhuskat, Bhimpokhara)
  • Construction of 5 toilets in the above-mentioned VDC`s as well as 4 toilets for primary schools in Bhimpokhara and Resha
  • Construction of a drinking water reservoir in Resha
  • Painting of 5 class rooms in local schools
  • Plastering and white-washing of the Nirmal primary school and the Sima community building
  • Construction of a playground for the Bhuskat primary school
    • Planting of 528 herbal medical plants in the Sima community forest and of approximately 50 seedlings in the school area of Janaprem Secondary School (Bhuskat)
